Sensational Listening Sessions #11

  • Bleach Listening Room 611 Gore Avenue Vancouver, BC, V6A 2Z8 Canada (map)

🦻🏾 We welcome you to join us this Wednesday, March 11 at the Bleach Listening Room for the 11th instalment of Sensational Listening Session (SLS).

📻 This month on SLS we feature musical magician Mindchatter after of his March 7th concert at Commodore Ballroom. Instead of these sessions typically acting as an appetizer for concert, we are excited to also offer them like dessert— something sweet to tie it together.

Singer, songwriter, and New York City born and based producer, Bryce Connolly, better known as Mindchatter, has earned a reputation for his genre-defying approach to music. Rooted in an electronic sound, his fusion of introspective and thought-provoking lyrics with infectious, danceable beats cements him in a lane entirely of his own making.

Mindchatter Bio:

Renowned for his dynamic live performances that feature an immersive audio-visual experience, in 2024, he played a sold out 23-date "A Chorus Of Monologues" headline North American Tour and closed off the year with direct support play at Red Rocks.

His presence on the festival circuit is equally impressive, with performances at marquee events such as Outside Lands, Life Is Beautiful, CRSSD, Electric Forest, Bonnaroo, Lightning In A Bottle, Coachella’s DoLab, iii Points, Hulaween, Okeechobee, and countless others.

2025 saw the release of his third studio album, Giving Up On Words. Says Connolly, “This album is the closest I’ve come to defining Mindchatter. Giving Up On Words is about the quiet battle between the thoughts and their observer. It intentionally drifts between genres but stays consistent - whether it’s a dance track or a ballad, the feeling is familiar.”

Session Details:

💿 Jaladé (@jalade__) will be joined by resident DJs: Losso (@losso_____works) and Kikino (@kristenliston), punctuating the session with a curated selection of tracks placing the Mindchatter sound in a wider musical conversation. Halfway through the episode, we will go into the segment where we turn our focus solely on Mindchatter’s discography before ending the night with an improvisational B3B.

During this week’s SLS, we will have Andrew Tavukciyan, a Canadian-Armenian multidisciplinary artist and muralist, helping facilitate “open draw”. Tavukciyan will present a live drawing, encouraging you to do the same. Let the music guide you away from representation and embrace abstraction as a response. Don’t think, just draw.

Through the pairing of sound and visual art, the intervention invites participants to explore the embodied and imaginative potential of cross-modal perception — where listening informs seeing, and sensory boundaries begin to blur. In this in-between space, we cultivate heightened awareness, intuition, and creative discovery.

Andrew Bio:

Andrew Tavukciyan is a Canadian-Armenian multidisciplinary artist and muralist whose work spans painting, large-scale public art, and mixed media. His abstract practice explores the boundaries of representation, using form, colour and texture. Guided by instinct, his creative process prioritizes technique and visual harmony, allowing compositions to emerge naturally rather than through predetermined meaning.

💗 All levels of listeners are welcome.

About the gathering:

Sensational Listening Sessions at Bleach are an opportunity to gather and collectively listen. The Bleach Listening Room is free to enter, offering a thoughtful selection of wines and small plates. Seating is first-come, first-served.

Listeners are encouraged to be present, listen intentionally (to the music and each other) and to bring something to draw.
